The activities of Ciessevi’s Communication Area:
- introducing Ciessevi’s services and activities for voluntary organisations, the third sector and society in general to a wider target;
- bringing together and publicising the initiatives of voluntary organisations;
- offering communications support to organisations.
This is achieved through a wide range of tools:
News Volontariato (Volunteering News)
News Volontariato is Ciessevi’s bimonthly news magazine and is sent free of charge to voluntary and third-sector organisations and to institutions in the province of Milan. In accordance with its editorial line, its purpose is to provide news about specific topics relating to volunteering with in-depth coverage by Ciessevi consultants, to announce Ciessevi’s activities for improving the accessibility of the services it offers to the voluntary sector, and to provide a specific space for voluntary organisations to announce their initiatives.

The site, which has been on-line since 2000, is updated daily, making it an essential communication tool both internally and externally, and allowing Ciessevi’s staff themselves to have a complete overview of the Centre’s activities. In addition to the institutional and information sections there is a section dedicated to the initiatives promoted by the voluntary sector, a window in which organisations can publicise their activities.
The newsletter
The electronically-published newsletter is sent once a fortnight to addresses on the mailing list, which can be joined directly from our website. It is an instrument whose purpose is to announce latest news and developments.
Communications Support
Ciessevi’s Communications Area offers free advice to voluntary organisations which intend to set up a communications plan. The Service Centre for the Voluntary Sector in the province of Milan places its staff at their service to ensure an information support service to which individual organisations can turn to gain visibility for the associations themselves, their activities, their mission and any initiatives that they organise. A convention, a public demonstration, a fundraising campaign or a show organised by the associations will gain wide exposure in the local area in which they operate if they are staged with an effective communications plan capable of reaching the largest possible number of people through efficient, continuous, targeted “dialogue” with the main means of mass communication. Ciessevi is by your side in this type of service too. This collaboration falls within the institutional duties which Ciessevi is required by its Statute to offer to individual organisations operating in the area for the purpose of developing the culture of solidarity in the social fabric.
It is important to point out that Ciessevi’s Communications Area is able to offer associations active in the province of Milan a consultancy service only, and not directly produce information and communication campaigns on behalf of individual organisations.
